Aramco in collaboration with Pasqal has deployed the first quantum computer dedicated to industrial applications in Saudi Arabia and the wider region.

– The system operates at Aramco’s data centers in Dhahran, offering control of 200 qubits arranged in programmable two-dimensional arrays
– Aramco will leverage the technology to enhance operational efficiency and develop advanced digital solutions across the energy, materials, and industrial sectors
– Pasqal will provide training programs and joint research opportunities for Saudi engineers and researchers to support the development of a local quantum ecosystem
– In January 2023, Aramco invested in Pasqal through its venture arm, Wa’ed Ventures to help localize the company’s technologies and support its expansion in the Kingdom
– Pasqal was founded in France in 2019 by Alain Aspect, Georges-Olivier Reymond, Christophe Jurczak, Antoine Browaeys, and Thierry Lahaye.
– The announcement came days after Nvidia disclosed its work on building supercomputers in Saudi Arabia
